    • The College of Information Studies (Maryland’s iSchool) invites applications for an open rank tenure-track position (with preference for Assistant or Associate level) with a focus on cognitive security and information attacks, defenses, and resilience. Ideal applicants will bring both technical and social expertise to address how actors employ misinformation and disinformation online, the impact on trust in information and institutions, and systems-based solutions to these human-cybersecurity challenges. Example approaches could include securing information supply chains; building tools to detect and disrupt malicious online behavior; or identifying human or organizational vulnerabilities to influence campaigns and building sociotechnical countermeasures.

  • Professional Track Faculty, Lecturer   APPLY 
    • The iSchool is looking for two full-time, professional track lecturers who are highly competent, energetic, collegial, and flexible to join our exciting environment. Each lecturer will teach in one or more of the areas listed below, with a course load of three classes per semester (fall and spring), and will actively participate in the life of the college.

Staff

  • LAN Systems Administrator   APPLY 
    • Description: This position will provide supervision and oversight to Graduate Assistants and hourly student workers. This position will also manage backups, security, OS and application patching protocols for departmental servers and server environments. And create and maintain the complete and accurate policy and procedural documentation in support of iSchool server-specific computing environment.

  • Academic Program Specialist   APPLY 
    • Description: The Academic Program Specialist will perform specialized administrative work in support of the Information Science (InfoSci) program at the University of Maryland, College Park. The person will work with the InfoSci @ College Park team that consists of the program’s Assistant Director and 4 Academic Advisors. Specific responsibilities include: – coordinating retention activities; – serving as a point of contact to prospective students on matters related to program requirements, admission policies and procedures; – assisting the InfoSci team in event planning and management; – managing student academic data; – developing and updating program-related documents and materials; – creating content for and managing program website. This position reports to the Assistant Director of the InfoSci program at the College Park campus.

  • IT Engineer   APPLY 
    • Description: This position will lead the server administration and support within the iSchool. This includes planning, configuring, deploying, and maintaining Windows and Linux servers in both physical and virtual environments in support of iSchool administrative and research computing requirements.
